Transparent file caching and cloud tiering
Object storage behind familiar files.
ObjectVeil keeps frequently used files on fast local storage and retrieves colder files from your storage backend when applications need them.
Linux x86-64 release; installation guide and signed deployment license required.

How it works
Local speed, with a larger storage tier behind it.
Keep active files nearby
Frequently accessed files stay in the local cache. Configured policies control how much local storage the cache uses.
Retrieve files on demand
The file-access library requests missing contents from the daemon. Downloads are checked before they become visible to the application.
Reclaim local capacity
Eligible files can leave the local cache after remote publication and the required safety checks. Active writers are coordinated before eviction.
Storage and application choice
Your files, your backend.
S3, Azure Blob, Google Cloud Storage, or NFS
Choose a backend that fits your infrastructure. ObjectVeil supports configured parallel multipart uploads, content verification, small-file packing, and deduplication.
A file-storage product, with a Perforce integration
ObjectVeil operates underneath supported Linux file access. The distribution includes a Perforce integration; other applications require validation of their file operations and writer coordination before deployment.
Migration and restore
Bring existing files into the same storage layout.
ObjectVeil Migrate copies existing file contents to the backend using the cache's configured upload and packing paths. It also copies verified contents back to a local destination.
Work alongside a running server
The uploader detects busy or changing files and defers them. Rerun it to copy those files after they settle; the report identifies work still outstanding.
Resume interrupted transfers
Durable progress records support resuming a job. Existing source files are retained, and the restore path checks destination conflicts before publishing files.
Verify before cutover
Use the supplied verification and recovery tools with the installation guide. An online scan is not an atomic backup of an entire running application.
Operational control
A cache you can inspect and recover.
Integrity and publication checks
Content digests and coordinated publication protect the path from cloud storage to visible local files.
Metrics and recovery tools
Monitor cache activity and failures, inspect the manifest, rebuild catalog data, and verify stored contents using the supplied tools.
A documented durability boundary
Uploads are asynchronous. Files still awaiting upload remain dependent on the local machine; disaster-recovery planning must account for that interval and the application's metadata.
